Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the Retro Revive Shopify website or purchasing any services or products offered by Retro Revive ("we", "us", or "our").

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and customers who engage with our services.

By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of the terms, you may not access or use the services provided by Retro Revive.

Purchases

By purchasing any product or service from Retro Revive, you affirm that all information provided including payment and shipping details is accurate and that you are authorized to use the payment method submitted. You acknowledge that Retro Revive is not responsible for any issues that result from the submission of false or incomplete information.

Payment may be processed through third-party providers (such as Shopify Payments or PayPal), and by submitting your information, you consent to the sharing of this data with such providers for the purpose of fulfilling your order.


Repairs and Services

All repair services, custom work, and diagnostics are performed with the understanding that electronic repairs carry inherent risks. While we take every precaution and treat every console as if it were our own, Retro Revive cannot be held liable for any additional damage, performance issues, or loss of function that may occur during the course of a repair.

By sending in your item, you acknowledge that:

  • Diagnostic fees cover the labor and time spent investigating your item and are generally non-refundable, even if the item is deemed unrepairable.

  • Additional repair costs may arise after diagnosis. In such cases, you will be contacted with a full explanation and must approve the added charges before work continues.

  • In some rare cases, attempted repairs may not resolve the issue, or new issues may arise due to age, previous damage, or unforeseen complications.

  • Replacement parts (especially aftermarket or discontinued parts) may vary in quality and availability. We will always use the highest quality parts available unless otherwise discussed.

We’re proud to have a strong repair success rate, but we do not guarantee any item can or will be repaired. If your item cannot be repaired, we will return it as-is, minus the diagnostic fee and whatever parts and labor costs are associated.

Salvage Offer

In some cases where a piece of hardware is deemed unrepairable, Retro Revive may offer you the option to forfeit the item in exchange for the fair market value we assign to the item in its current state. This offer is made only at our discretion and only if the console has components we can reuse or salvage for training or future repairs.

By accepting this option, you agree to transfer full ownership of the item to Retro Revive. The item will not be returned, and will be repurposed internally.

This is entirely optional and will only be presented if we are interested in the system for parts. If not, the item will be returned to you as-is, minus any applicable service fees.


 

Shipping

Unless otherwise stated, return shipping costs are included in your service package. Shipping for incoming items may be handled by the customer or paid through our shipping system. Retro Revive is not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit — we recommend using tracked and insured shipping both ways.

Abandoned Items

Retro Revive makes every reasonable effort to return your items in a timely manner. However,  we ask that you stay responsive to any communications regarding your service.

Once we’ve diagnosed your item or completed the requested service, we’ll send an invoice or update to the contact information you provided. We’ll make at least three attempts to reach you over a 60-day period.

If we don’t receive payment or any response within 60 days of our first contact attempt, and no other arrangement has been made, your item may be considered abandoned.

If your item is returned to us due to an undeliverable shipment, we’ll attempt to contact you again. In that case, the 60-day period will begin from the first attempt to reach you after the item is returned.

Unless we’ve agreed otherwise, we will not return your item until the full amount owed on your invoice has been paid. After 60 days of no payment or communication, you will forfeit ownership, and Retro Revive reserves the right to reuse, recycle, resell, or dispose of the item at our discretion.

If you need more time or a special arrangement, just let us know before the deadline. We're happy to work with you when possible.

Once an item is classified as abandoned:

  • Ownership will transfer to Retro Revive.

  • The item may be used for parts, training, resale, or responsibly recycled at our discretion.

  • No compensation will be offered for abandoned items.

If you're unable to respond or retrieve your item within 60 days for any reason, please reach out to us ahead of time and we’ll gladly work with you to make arrangements.


Returns and Refunds

Refunds will be processed on a case-by-case basis and are typically limited to unfulfilled orders or duplicate payments. If you are unhappy with a service, contact us immediately — we want to make it right whenever possible. Refunds do not apply to diagnostic services or attempted repairs where the issue was outside our control.

 Media Digitization Policy

Retro Revive offers digitization services for aging analog formats, giving your memories new life in a digital format. This policy outlines what we do, what we don't, and how we handle your tapes and other media.

Media Content Policy

We do not retain copies of your media, nor do we view its full contents. During the transfer process, we may briefly review segments to ensure the quality and functionality of the digitization. Your privacy is a top priority, and we handle all materials with the utmost discretion and care.
However:
Retro Revive will not digitize commercially produced movies, TV shows, or other copyrighted content unless you can provide written proof of ownership or rights. Any such tapes submitted for digitization will be returned without digitization. 

Additionally, any content that appears to contain illegal material or evidence of criminal activity will be reported to the appropriate law enforcement authorities. This includes, but is not limited to, any form of abuse, exploitation, or other criminal acts.

In such cases:

  • The media will be turned over to law enforcement, along with any and all identifying information we have on the sender (including name, address, and communication records).

  • We will fully cooperate with law enforcement regarding any additional handling or retention of related media.

  • Once this occurs, the matter is out of our hands and any further issues are between the customer and the authorities.

  • Any individual who sends in such materials will be permanently banned from using any Retro Revive services.

This policy exists to protect both Retro Revive and the integrity of our services. We do not tolerate the use of our platform for illegal or unethical purposes.

Warranty Policy

Retro Revive provides a 30-day limited warranty on all repair and modification services listed on our website. This warranty covers only the specific work we performed and does not extend to unrelated components or issues within the device that were not serviced by us.

For refurbished or made-to-order items, we offer an extended 60-day warranty from the date of delivery. This warranty includes free labor and replacement parts necessary to resolve any issues directly related to the original service or build.

Please note that this warranty does not cover user-caused damage, including but not limited to water exposure, physical damage, or unauthorized modifications. We reserve the right to inspect the item before confirming warranty coverage.

Media Usage and Promotional Content

By sending your device to Retro Revive for service, you acknowledge and agree that we may photograph or record video of your device before, during, and after service for documentation, educational, or promotional purposes (including use on our website, social media, and other marketing materials). These images or videos will focus solely on the hardware and will never include any personal identifying information unless express permission is given.

We do not take or share photos, videos, or content from any digitized media such as VHS tapes, DVDs, flash drives, or any form of personal recordings. Your privacy remains a top priority, and media content submitted for digitization will never be used for promotional or public purposes under any circumstances.
